First of all I'm not being smart or cheeky or anything.

But lord god, this is weird to me. A my little pony forum and yee actually went off and campaigned for it etc.

    Very strange

How is it stranger/ weirder than a Pokemon forum, or Primetime Cartoons, or even Glee and Breaking Bad? MLP is a great show, and has many fans as you can see, as well as many related interests (songs, crafts etc).

Mate , theres a big difference between Breaking Bad and My Little Pony, seriously..

Each to their own and everything and I'd actually support you guys right to have this forum ( genuinely ) , but having said that a bunch of grown ups being into MLP seems bloody creepy to me.

And that's the way most people will see it too I think.

But hey -- if it makes you happy, knock yourselves out.

Both are fresh, innovative, well written and have accumulated a loyal fanbase. Much more in common than you'd think.

I only once met a Brony I considered creepy. And that's after a year and a half of being around them. If you watched a few episodes, or hung around with a few of us, you'd see that.

There was a particular moment I love from last year. I was going down the post office to post off my masters application, and I was wearing a pony shirt, because why not. Coming out of the office, I put my headphones back on, but no music yet.

A middle aged woman and a teenage girl I assume was her daughter were passing. The woman looked at me and said to the girl (obviously thinking that I couldn't hear her) "What do you think is wrong with people like that? "

I casually turned as I walked and said "Well, we're not all judgemental b*****s, madm." And I carried on walking.

My point is, people can judge all they like. I'm awesome, doesn't bother me. But it does bother some people, and it's just not cool.

    I'm female :)
I got into this because my daughters are. At first I cringed at all the pink and cutesey-ness, but it is actually a really good show with solid storyline and good morals, without shoving it down your throat like some other kids shows. And the tunes are oh-so-catchy: far more so than Glee, for me :)

But if you're into something meant for young girls, then you go for it.

My sister was obsessed with it as a kid so everyone in our house knows plenty about it. It's for little girls as far as I'm concerned, and I'm sure the rest of the world would agree with me.

We live in a free world , and so long as you're harming another individual , you should be free to do what you want.
That's something I would defend to the last.

But being into something inherently childlike will always raise eyebrows.

Anyways, good luck to your forum and I genuinely wish y'all the best of luck.

But you shouldn't be surprised if people will pass judgement.

Oh man, I can't stand the old series. I'm talking about the new series, completely different thing. Google Friendship is Magic.

Yeah dude. The old series is nothing compared to the new one.

Gentle reminder of Our MLP charter, specifically "No spam, trolling or any general muppetry. If you don't like the show, say so politely and explain why. Do not make fun of those that are fans, or you will be sent to the moon*".

Why come into a forum you have no interest in and post? There are hundreds of forums on boards do you check them all out? Post on each?
If something is not for you like fishing or glee then don't go out if your way to 'pass judgement'
Btw my kids hate the old pony show, girl cause it too silly, boy cause there are no boys in it.
MLP is an excellent animation series like powderpuff girls or samurai jack, no need to justify interest in quality entertainment.

I use a recent example in gaming when trying to explain this to people. There's a new'ish game called "Eurotruck Simulator 2". Everyone was telling me to buy it and I was just giving them strange looks. Really, a trucking simulator? How could that be fun? Turns out it's heaps of fun and PC Gamer agree (They reviewed it)

My point is, just because something sounds strange and weird, doesn't necessarily mean it is. I know for a fact I'm not the "target demographic" for "Eurotruck".
