As the title says, I'm looking for a recommended headset that can do 5.1/7.1 sound to as good a level as can be expected from a headset.
I game close to the monitors so a normal surround system is not practical.
I dont care for a microphone but it seems that most gaming headsets come with one anyway.
Comfort and sound quality is priority. I had my eye on some of the Razer sets but wanted to get some opinions here before commiting to buying.
Budget can be anything from 50 to 200 Euro.

As for a mouse, I'm considering a Logitech GT500 but again I'm interested in opinions here.

    Thanks.

Corsairs Vengence 1500 headset is a comfortable Digital 7.1 headset. tbh i find headsets with actual 7.1 surround to be ****e. Ive never worn a razer headset that was comfortable

as for a mouse im assuming you mean a G500. i had the mouse but i needed to change because its shape was starting to give me wrist pain and i switched a razer Deathadder 2013 which is great. Zowie make some great mice and the G400 is the successor to the MX518 which is considered one of the best mice ever made

I game with my face ~6 inches from my monitor, and I use surround sound. Why is it not practical?

Not practical with my own surround system I should have said. The speakers are massive and you need to be sitting a good bit back from them.

Well, I have the Vengeance 2000 from Corsair (basically a slightly improved and wireless version of the 1500), and a Performance MX from Logitech, if that's any help to you.
