There's normally a separate limit for the weights, you'd have to email and ask since its not on the site.

if it lists the weight as maximum user weight, I think it means your weight and the amount you're moving. But you should email to clarify.

Thanks runawaybishop - I have emailed them.

Yeah I would have thought so myself burrenguy - but best bench on their site is 150kg which is really bugger all, if its combined !!

The cheaper benches are usually shoddy and have a rickety feel to them. I have the use of one in my house, I didn't buy it, and I never bother using it, just feels crap.

I do other exercises instead, like dips & pushups for the chest, standing military press.

If was to get a bench it would be a secondhand decent stable one.

Got cinfirmation from Irishsportswarehose that the max user weight is to the total weight (person + weights used).

I have been using this bench for months now over the limit, it seems to be fine. The bench is hardly gonna split in 2 while doing a bench press !! Would it !!??

If it does you have no comeback with it. 120kg max limit is pretty small.

There will be a large "factor of safety" built into the design of these things, i.e. its actual breaking point is probably huge. This calculated safety factor will/should also take into account flaws in manufacture.

You can usually check things before using them. E.g. if you have gymnastic rings hang off 1. If you have a questionable squat stand or bench put all your weight onto a fully loaded bar and see how it holds up.

Bear in mind that a dropped bar full of plates will exert a massive force on the unit.

Mine seems to be holding up quite well, have been bench pressing for months now and all good, keep checking the bench for loose bolts etc etc

    How heavy are you benching?

Id be worried with 60kg on that bench, it looks very flimsy and if something goes wrong you will end up badly hurt.

Benching 47 at the moment, and weight 83 = 130

But have being doing that for months and its fine.. Im checking the nuts and bolts and the metal is not bending at all..

Yeah that might be ok, I wouldnt fancy throwing another 30kg on the bar though.
