RGB SNES cable that works?

Has anyone had any success in finding an RGB scart cable that works perfectly on a PAL SNES? I've tried a cheap one on eBay but it produces weird Moire patterns on the screen and a hum in the sound. Just trying to get an affordable cable that produces perfect picture and humless audio.

this was talked about in this thread:

but I decided to just make a new thread as I didn't want to post in it considering its over a year old.

Are you using it on a HD TV, or a CRT TV?

Tried both, a sony trinitron CRT and also an LG HDTV. The snes cable I bought on ebay seems to produce the same results. However I got a sega megadrive 2 RGB cable a while back and the picture is amazing on that, but theres an audible hum, especially when the screen is bright/white (i suspect this is bad shielding or something).

I & several others have used consolegoods.co.uk in the past for RGB goodness, never had a problem :)

Yeah funny enough I bought the cable from them guys. It's possible I got a dud but I'm afraid to get another one just in case. Did you buy the standard PAL SNES RGB cable he sells? And you don't get any weird moiré patterns or hum?

I see, it's unlikely you got a dud do, afaik he makes all those cables himself & knows what he's at. This sounds like a problem I seen here before - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056034473. Is yours like this?

Yeah that's exactly how mine looks, but on 2 snes consoles and 2 tvs. I actually posted in that thread a year ago but never figured out a solution. :(

Ha, it's actually your picture now that you mention it! :D

Try it on a third tv, have you checked the construction of the cable against the known way it should be?

I had the same problem as well thought it was the cable but it was the TV handling RGB scart poorly. Seems to be okder Sony and LG HD TV's for some reason, must be the upscaling algorithms.
