    Hi all,

Getting a stove put into my living room and I need some advice on the surround. I'd really like to put an oak sleeper mantle above it-it will be set inside the fireplace and although it will be a free standing stove, it's slightly more modern than some of the traditional stoves.

However, my boyfriend thinks those oak sleeper mantles only work in country style rooms and ours isnt at all country style.

I've been hunting the net for a photo to show him that it could work-I've only found one-does anyone have any more images like this or even just opinions on whether it would work or not?

You may want to do some research , there may be issues with having wooden mantle and a stove, insurance issues etc due to heat.
