You could try the OpenOffice.org Database one for free.

You can download MS Access Runtime for free. This will allow you use databases, but that's about it. Its entirely read only and you have no access to the design.

Please read the charter, regarding warez etc.

Microsoft is not a charity, Access is one of the crown jewels that they can still charge top dollar for, and try to sucker you into MSSQL where the big bucks are.

look at the workarounds suggested or buy a second hand non-OEM copy, it may even be cheaper to buy a second hand business computer that had office OEM preinstalled

Microsoft Access ... access, can be subscribed to for as low as $12.50 a month when paid annually, or purchased outright as part of Office Pro 2013.

It's more cost effective to purchase 2013 ($399) than it is to use 365 if you have no requirements for SkyDrive (or the included web page hosting) or to keep using the latest version of Office. Of course if you're a college student its part of 365 University at a slashed rate.

If thats too steep the Access Runtime as suggested will let you read databases or you can try using Libre/Open Office.

Free if you have access (pun very much intended) to Dreamspark via a University.

Free if you have access (pun very much intended) to Dreamspark via a University.

With the cost of Dreamspark membership and the rate at which MS is offering Office 365 "free" to universities as a mail service, my experience in the UK at least is that Dreamspark is only available to CompSci/Engineering faculties. So not a widespread in availability as some would hope...

Many businesses have a home use program (HUP) check with your employer. Check the EULA though if using it for commercial purposes
