NCT Failed Emissions bmw 318i

    I had my car in for the NCT today, its a 98 BMW 318i and it failed on one of the emissions tests:

    Oil 88 degrees

    Low Idle CO 0.06%
    HC 16 ppm

    High Idle Lambda 0.99
    CO 0.48% FAIL above 0.30%
    HC 18 ppm

    Could anyone tell me what could cause the high CO for high idle, just want to know how much money i'm going to be putting into repairs to get it thru the NCT? Thanks

    possible cat convertor, approx €300 for a aftermarket one supplied and fiffed
    is that the e36 bmw
