    Folks,
As title says, looking to get away on a last minute sunny holiday for 7 nights any time between Aug 1st - 12th but usual places i've been searching isin't showing anything

Can anyone recommend any places to look online? I'm also going to run into the local travel agents in Galway as they may have something

Keep an eye on Holiday Pirates

some steals but you will probably have to get yourself to a relevent UK airport for departure.

I should have mentioned i'd really want to fly from Ireland, ideally Dublin but would go anywhere that is only 1 bus journey (so Shannon or Knock)

You're unlikely to get last minute offers in Ireland, Holiday Pirates does sometimes have last minute deals from Belfast. You'll either have to pay full price and go from Ireland or take a flight to UK and get a really cheap deal.

Thomson seem to have a good few late deals available though the prices from Belfast aren't as good as the amazing deals available from London.

Have you tried doing a search on skyscanner for flights and then using booking.com or the like for hotels once you've picked a destination.

In my experience of booking very close to time of departure, it's rarely finding accommodation that's the issue.

As for your reluctance to fly out of UK, I'd only say this... You could find a lot more options open to you and save quite a bit if you're willing to do a 30/40 minute flight to Liverpool, Leeds or Manchester and connect there.

Before we settled on doing a staycation earlier this month, I was looking at Malaga or Faro via Liverpool and still save around €200 on the total cost of flights against the cost ex DUB.

Of course you can get last minute deals in Ireland

Check out local travel agents. Falcon in Clarehall in Dublin had an offer last week for €299 for a week to Turkey, inc accommodation and transfers. They also had a few options to various canary islands, all around the €300 mark. All were leaving the next weekend.

So phone a few travel agents, tell them you are in the market for any last minute offers that come up, give them your number and they will contact you if they get any cancellations.

Cassidy travel are offering various destinations from €299 - you would have to check dates etc and T&C's - I am sure some of them won't be that cheap, but worth a look

Creation travel in Waterford had €399 for a week all inclusive in sharm yesterday. Limited availability so might be old out now though.

Ryanair have cheap flights from Cork to Bordeaux in early August, only €110 return. Only issue is, if you're going from Dublin, that the flights are at 7am.

You could spend a couple of days in Bordeaux, then head down to Biarritz and/or San Sebastian. The cost of accommodation could be high though as it's peak holiday period for the French.
