car won't start???

Hey- So my temperamental 02 Renault Clio has a mind of its own!

*Engine management light has been coming on and off this 6 months after getting it fixed several times.*

Got it serviced before the nct (under body car wash on the day of nct) and all went well, it didn't pass on the suspension- that was all. Passed the following week

After 1st nct, went and did the shopping and when i started the car it wouldn't rev- engine running but that was it! got it towed and the petrol accelerator plug was reconnected(think that was the cause) -worked after same.

2 days later, same thing happened but mechanic picked car up next morning and it started fine- couldn't find the cause? drove for another 3 days-same thing happened.Started car the following morning and was fine- went out to car this morning and now the engine won't even start, there's a ticking noise coming from engine when trying to start the car?

Anybody any insight? Going of my Trolley

See if it starts just by hooking up a set of jump leads. If it does you need a new battery

I would also check your 4 ignition coils are working and that your throttle body is clean. 1.2 petrol I presume?

1.2 is right- i put in petrol cleaner on friday and it was running grand-
i'm confused- it will work one day and not the other- literally passed nct last week- waiting on the brothers to jump start it but its a new battery- full service done 2 weeks ago too
