Hi, I've been playing guitar now for a long time but my progress has been slow. I've had a lot of lessons over the years and I'd like to try a different approach to learning. I'm looking to find an evening course or some one to play together with to become more confident with playing in public and learn more. Maybe with a view to trying an open mic night or something like that eventually. I'm in cork city and I can't realy sing but I do like playing so if any one has any info just let me know:-)

Knowing somebody with experience of playing in public is worth its weight in gold. I took it up three years ago from a friend who had been playing for nearly a decade and is now in a band. Only for him I'd never have got to any decent level.

The wonderful thing about being taught by a friend is that he/she will take the lessons at your own pace and can tailor the learning to your needs. No book or online tutorial provides a better alternative.

Best of luck with it! :)
