Really need some help with what to do. Haven't got a clue about social welfare system.

I was getting a payment of €75.20 a week for the last 2 years, as my days had been reduced from 5 to 3. This has now ended, and I really don't know, how we're going to survive without it.

I earn €280 for the 3 days that I do work, and my DH gets €386 from his employment. We also have an income of €2,500 a year from renting land. We have a mortgage of €925 a month, but are currently only paying €430 per month. We have other loans which we are paying off approximately €150 a month. We also have 1 child.

What if anything can I claim. Can I appeal (and win) the decision to end my current benefit? Don't think I can apply for FIS? By losing this current payment, I lose subvention towards crèche fees, so in effect I will be down approximately €130 per week? This is just unmanageable! What can I do if anything?

    Thanks in advance.

Are you saying your back on a 5 day week or that you are not working at all now.

No still on 3 days a week, but payment for the days I don't work has stopped. Apparently you only get it for a period of time.

You will have to go into your local office and talk with them about it, I know people whom have been on it for nearly 4 years, the only issue you will have is if your household is now bringing in more money now than when you made the original claim, you might end up getting less money, thats if they do restart your claim.

When on Benefit the claim only lasts 312 days max, once you use all these days your claim is exhausted. You would probably re qualify for benefit based on your stamps but as your job is still a 3 day week you have no loss of employment which is a condition of a benefit claim.
You would need to apply for Job seekers Allowance(JA). This is means tested and will take both of your incomes into account.

If you work more than 19 hours per week you can apply for FIS but you cannot have both JA and FIS, but your husband could have FIS and you have JA if the income limits permit.

You should contact your local office and apply for the JA through them as soon as possible in order to have a decision as the the rate of payment, if any, you are entitled to.
