Whirlpool dishwasher F4 troubleshooting

    Hi Guys.

I have a Whirlpool ADP 4501/5 dishwasher. A year or so ago it stopped working with an F4 fault (I didn't know what an F4 fault was, but google helped with that). The dishwasher was clearly draining fine, so I got a toothbrush and cleaned the grid of the pressure sensor, and hay presto it started working again.

Fast forward to today, and we're having what appeared to be the same problem - F4 fault but the machine is draining fine. I tried the toothbrush again but no joy. So I found a video on youtube that showed how to remove the pressure sensor completely and give it a clean. Sure enough, the sensor was wedged with gunge, so I cleaned it completely and refitted it. I was sure that would resolve the problem, but it didn't. So I'm thinking I'll have to give in and call a repair guy. But before I do, does anyone have any other thoughts on things I could try?

If not, is the pressure sensor the only possible source of the issue? If so, where could I get the part myself?

    Cheers!

    Ronan

Quick update, in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

I had actually fixed the issue by doing what the guy describes in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfeFTdSdNYQ

However, when I turned the machine back on it continued to flash. To reset it, I had to push the start button for two seconds to stop it flashing, then select a different cycle and press start again. The dishawasher is working away here now. Happy out because I'm normally a bit of a DIY disaster.

Hope this helps someone in the future.
