    Hello,

I'm involved in a legal issue here.
I've got this email from their solicitors and to be honest,i have no idea what that means...
Thanks in advance for translating that for me...

Basically,I've tried to reach an agreement with them on the matter.
I completely and fully try avoiding to go in the court.
When i've asked them what's the next move and if have to go in the court, they replied with this text, via email:

Further to my previous e-mails, if you are disputing this claim and wish to defend the proceedings, then, you are required, not later than 7 days before the Return Date, to detach and complete the two Notices of Intention to Defend attached to the Civil Summons and to give or send by post one of them to District Court in Dublin and the other to this office. If you do file a Notice of Intention to Defend, there will be no need for you to attend Court on the 26th July, as on that date we will attend and apply to the Court for a hearing date for this Action. Once a Hearing Date is allocated, you will be notified of same and will have to attend on that date.

If we do not receive payment or a Notice of Intention to Defend prior to this date, and if you do not file this Notice in the District Court, you will be held to have admitted the claim and we can then proceed to Judgment after the return date by way of Affidavit without further notice to you.

It is in your own interest to seek independent legal advice because, as previously advised, we are not in a position to advise you any further. In that regard, any further queries will have to be dealt with by your own Solicitor.

I trust that this clarifies matters.

In simple English, 4 options, 1 fill in intention to defend, if you want to fight it 2 pay what they claim 3 do nothing and they will get judgement on the date plus costs. 4 the best thing todo get real legal advice from a solicitor, he or she will be able to tell you based on all the correct information what is the best thing todo.

Even if you want to settle out of court, you need to fill in your intention to defend if you do intend to.

the hearing on the 26th appears to be the first mention of the case in court, you dont really need to be there unless your diary is busy and want to have some input as to when the substantial hearing is going to be.
