My provisional was issued on the 27th of February and I've applied for my test. Will I be eligible for my test on the 27th of August or is it 24 weeks which would be the 14th of of August?

    :pac:

I have one more lesson to do and then I'll have my 12 done. I kept thinking I had 5 or 6 weeks to prepare for the test and then it dawned on me that some months actually have 5 weeks!

best prep you can do is to drive around the test routes as much as you can, especially the first 5-10 minutes of the test. If you go clear then you will be well set up. When I did mine I spent about 2 hours before hand just doing the first part of the test over and over, by the time I had the lad in with me he had made up his mind I was a competent driver within this period. I know I made mistakes later but he wasn't even paying that much attention that he just let it pass

if you know the centre you be will be taking the test at, you could wait outside it and follow the car around, not staying too close though :pac:

most centres only have so many routes they take drivers on, so following a tester for 3/4 tests might be worth your while

I logged in to my EDT there and my lessons have been logged. It says I can take apply for my test from the 3rd of September. I got my licence on the 27th of February and my first lesson logged on the 3rd of March.
I thought you were eligible six months from your licence date, not your first lesson date?!

It's 6months from the valid date on your licence. Ring them

    Thanks MascotDec85.

It's only a week in the difference and I've put myself on the cancellation list but I want to have passed my test by a wedding I have to attend on the 20th of September!

Cancellation list is useless if you want the test very quick. What you need to do is ring them up everyday, took me 2 days of ringing, and ask for a cancelled test. They will generally read out a list of dates available. If the test is 20 or more days away and that's too far take it and ring the next day and look for a nearer date. This worked for me, rang on the 10th of a month had the test on the 20th

They don't ask for a reason but if they do say you need it for a job starting in 3 weeks.

10 days is minimum notice you can give and get your money back. You'd be very lucky to get nearer.
