    Hey,

Daft question.. but trying to work out if I should change the timing belt but get different answers depending on where I look (and some I don't understand)..

    I have a 2005 L200 Trojan 4 door version (2.5 Diesel).. 61,500 Miles driven.

Manual says 72K miles for VW engines.. but no idea what VW is..
Manual says 54K for replacing engine timing and Balance shaft belts (I assume this one is mine)..
Some websites say 60K miles.. and some say 90K miles...

    Any idea? Thanks.

Whenever I can't the same answer from different sources I just change it for peace of mind. You can never change important stuff like timing belts too early IMO.

60k or every five years! You were pushing your luck there 8 years !!!

Rubber does harden and perish over years, hence the evry 5 year.

Anyway, dont delay on getting it sorted.

Thanks TLC.. daft as it seems i was assuming it would be around 80K, and never even considered the years.. the 5 years you mention makes perfect sense (and something very much known around tyres)....
Its booked in for next week, so its definitely getting done... Thanks.
