Is the auto still more desirable than the manual in the mercs?

I'm steering towards an auto if I was going diesel again, but this just caught my eye

Id say on a comfort oriented car the auto would be the one to get. Not sure how it affects tax

Had 1 of these for a couple of weeks last month. Great place to spend time. Definitely auto in my opinion. Do they even have a manual option?

The one in the OP's link is manual. Personally, I wouldn't bother with this class of car in manual especially a Merc.

Id be the opposite in that id prefer a manual especially in a coupe as you would call it more sporty than the saloon.

The eclass wouldn't be bought by anyone looking for sporty, manual doesn't make sense in it, especially with the parking brake where it is.

It's a nice looking cruiser, suited to an auto.

Im surprised merc are not using an electronic handbrake by now,a footbrake next to a clutch is not great really.

The E-class coupe was derided here when it came out as it shared a lot with the C-Class Merc. From memory it was chassis but not sure.

I still love those. The nose seems to look ok on the coupe but not on saloon.

My brother has once of these coupes. A really nice looking car IMO. It's a 2009 auto diesel. Think the tax is between 500-600 I think. He's never had a problem with the car and it drives as well as the day he bought it.

Not sure it shares anything with the C-Class apart from engines, which is normal for all brands.

had a look on the VRT calculator, it has the VRT rate at 19%
Couple of nice autos in UK
However the one car I saw in UK has emmissions up at 159 I think which means the VRT site is wrong and it adds about 4k to the VRT price

Anyone know what is the official emmisions on the BE 220 CDi auto?

A white manual E-Class coupé will be very difficult to offload when the time comes to get rid of it.
