They're a great car. Mondeo is really rock solid if you get a good one.

I've sent you a pm with more details as my dad has had one for years

Looks all right, I see that its on the cc tax so it needs to be priced accordingly.

You are right to focus on a petrol if your mileage is low, but bear in mind it will be like a wedding ring because it would be very difficult to get rid of when you finished with it as the market does not want petrol car.

Price seems a bit of the high side to me. A work colleague bought a similar car with less mileage nearly 2 years ago and paid €11.5 cash for it.

These cars are almost sale proof these days so if it ticks all your boxes then haggle hard on that price.

Price is fair for the mileage. It's hard to find an 08 Mondeo with very low mileage
It's well worth the asking if you ask me.

My father sold an identical car but a hatchback before christmas with the same mileage for €8k and he got very lucky with that. Next best offer was €6.5k.

In saying that they are a good car, very thirsty around town (20mpg for the most part) but you can get 40mpg easily on a longer run. Old school petrol engine and pretty reliable. He had a problem with the clutch - replaced at 50k km or so by Ford FOC. Other than that it never needed anything. Comfortable, nicer to drive than an Insignia or Passat and Titanium X has everything you'd need as standard.

As I said, a colleague bought a similar car almost two years ago for €11500 from a Ford dealer, with lower mileage. I wouldn't pay anywhere near €10k for the same car today. These cars are fine but very few people want them these days and the price should reflect the demand or lack of.

Was it a 2008 Mondeo? How much would you offer for the car?

Yes it was, a Titanium X model in the same colour too. I would offer around €8500 and see what they say. Would not pay more than €9k for it though.

How long do you plan on keeping the car for?

I'd be slow to spend over €8k personally for one. Great car but keep an eye on done deal - they pop up often enough in Titanium X spec for a lot less than that. Ours was priced on done deal for €8k and there was one phone call for it over the course of 6 weeks resulting in that €6.5k offer. In the end a family member offered over €8k for it and it was sold to them for €8k.

€10k is crazy money for 2008 petrol Mondeo IMO, Titanium spec or not. .
