Only found out about this service this morning while waiting in Dungannon for a bus to Portadown NIR. Incidentally a 29000 DMU set in place of the Enterprise on the 10:35 Belfast-Dublin this morning :(

Anyway, the X4 is Derry - DUB - Busaras via Cookstown & Dungannon for those who don't know. It could be very handy for me from time to time.

Any idea what vehicle type it is? And most importantly, is there a toilet on board? :) Derry-Dublin is a long run with no sign of a toilet break in the timetable!

That bus takes 20 minutes longer than the Bus Éireann 33 Dublin-Derry but does take a different longer route, it is also not run in conjunction with Bus Éireann like the 33, X1 274 etc. Also strangely it is pick up only on the way to Dublin and set down only on the return to Derry so you cant use it to travel from Armagh, Cookstown etc to Derry.

I saw the 23.30 bus at Busáras the other night and it was a shiny new tri-axle Scania irizar i6 with 64 seats, how many seats do the bus Éireann i6's have?

So no toilets then? I'll stick with the long and slow route of train and 2 buses. Simply prefer the comfort factor of knowing the option is there on a 3 hour trip! And maybe having a coffee before boarding! No medical issues you'll be glad to know :D

Why don't you contact them on Facebook or via their website - there may well be a toilet break somewhere en route?
