    Hi All,

Hoping you can let me know whether I'm right or wrong about this.

Before I begin I haven't parked in any disabled spot nor am I looking to get out of a fine nor do I condone people parking in disabled spots I'm just looking for some clarification.

I'm currently under the impression that for a disabled parking spot to be classed as a valid disabled parking spot then it has to have a vertical sign at that spot and that the road marking by itself do not class it as a valid spot, the same can be said for taxi ranks and loading bays.

I'm under the this impression by looking here

    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/travel_and_recreation/traffic_and_parking/parking_facilities_for_people_with_disabilities.html

Quote "Each accessible parking space is designated as reserved by a vertically mounted or suspended sign showing the symbol of accessibility."

I believe this sign is called a RRM 015 and from a quick Google of the Irish statue book

    Quote "Disabled Persons Parking Bay.
    19. Traffic sign number RRM 015 shall—
    (a) indicate a disabled persons parking bay, and
    (b) consist of roadway markings, the dimensions and design of which shall be as set out in section 2 of the Seventh Schedule."

    http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1997/en/si/0181.html

So am I right or wrong? Does the disabled parking bay need to have a valid vertical sign?

    AFAIK you are correct.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

    No vertical sign required.
