    Hi,
Someone told me a story about some Irish kids in the 1980's that skipped school one day and managed to get themselves from Dublin to NYC.

I don't know if this is a myth or a true story, if it is a true story they must have had balls of steel ... can anyone shed some light on this ?

    myth or not ?

Never heard that one. I know that every year Trinity holds a competition for who can get as far away from Ireland by whatever means possible without spending a penny in 48hrs. People have got to Argentina, Australia, Indonesia and other mad places. How they do it without spending a penny is nuts!

It's true, RTE produced a documentary about it a few years ago.

Heard a good radio documentary about it on Radio 1 a while back. It's probably up on the RTE site still.

    Very very true story.

Saw NYC out of the terminal window and asked a copper "what city is that" and got rumbled.

If it's in a book it's gotta be true!
