    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some routes around the Tralee area if anyone knows thea area and would be willing to give some insight? Say 40 -60 -80-100K or there abouts, would be starting from Banna Strand.

Also are there any cycling clubs or groups that go out on regular spins from Tralee?

    Thanks,
    If_Only.

Try the ChainGang, Tralee based club, they are a grand bunch of people to cycle with.

You're spolt for choice really. I'd head out the road to Dingle, you can either go up Conor Pass, or if you don't fancy such a climb then you can turn left and go via Annascaul.

Also check out the routes followed by the Kingdom Alliance Sportive (www.tkas.ie). Each day had a 100 mile and a 50 mile route so the 50 mile ones would be getting to the longer end of what you're looking for - some real good choices there.

Head out past the new roundabout at Ballybeggan on the new ring road and up towards the town landfill in the Stacks mountains (not as bad as it sounds, can't be seen from the road). Turn right at the crossroadsafter the landfill and head over to Castleisland. Some big steep climbs and a sketchy descent into Castleisland.

I start from Banna when I'm on my hols there and I either do hill repeats on Kerry Head or head towards the Conor Pass for something longer. The odd time I've gone towards Castlemaine and back the 'scenic' route (Laharn?) to Tralee which has a tough climb in it. I'm heading there on Friday for a fortnight so would hope to get out a few times if you're around.

The TKAS site has nice routes in it and this is worth looking out for also http://www.ring-of-north-kerry-cycle.com/
