Generally if you use your own insurance it means you'll be back on the road quicker. The only way you'll know if it affects your NCB is when your insurance company contacts the other drivers. If the other driver disputes your story it could affect you NCB depending on how the insurance companies settle, which is always the least cost option for themselves not the policy holders. If you have independent witnesses make sure to send their details to the insurance companies.

Be warned, as Fred said, for most 13 years old cars it'll be scrapped. You won't get anywhere near what you think it's worth, don't except there 1st few offers. You can keep the car, less scrap value, and get it repaired yourself.

What's the car? But at a rough guess on a 13 year old car they'll write it off with that repair quote, IIRC if the repair is ~ 1/3 the pre repair price of the car it's written off. When they write off a car they usually offer you the pre crash value of the car, which as I said is nearly always a lot less than you think it's worth, and then give you the option of giving them the VLC/VRC or you can keep the car less it's salvage value which can be a surprising big amout on some cars but it's metal value is usually around a few hundred Euro. You can then get the car repaired yourself or scrap it.

Was that quote from a main dealer? A decent independent will be cheaper, the main dealers rarely do the repair work themselves.

If you need the car for work look into hiring one while yours is off the road, the other party if they admit 100% responsibility will usually cover this with their insurance but make sure before hand. Otherwise it's hit Done Deal or borrow a car.
