    a) the architect
    b) the engineer
    c) the client

    Can you clarify "site"

Is it the boundaries or the setting out for founds?

    Setting out of the foundations

Normally the builder will do this. If he doesnt have sufficient detail to work from then the architect who prepared the plans will have to do it.

generally what we do is to locate a front corner and let the builder work from there.

in doing that, we are taking responsibility for the house being in the correct location from a planning point of view, but the builder takes responsibility for the accuracy of the foundation dimensions.

And there's my problem, site is an unusual shape and the architects drawings have insufficient details. Does an architect normally change extra for this service.

planning drawings should be dimensions to boundaries.

if working from construction drawings, there should be sufficient information.

Contact the architect and ask for a definite answer but...

generally yes, an EXTRA service will incur an EXTRA charge.
