At present there is no official amateur course record for Druid's Heath.

On Saturday 24th August the club are running an open strokes competition from the championship tees: Blue tees : 7,001 yards : Par 71 : SSS 76

The best gross score on the day will become the official amateur record.
Rare chance for a serious golfer to hold a club record.

Booking won't be open for a few weeks yet, but I'm interested to see if there's any interest out there.

I'd love to see the results of this, in good weather.

Played it two weeks ago and absolutely loved it, despite the difficulty.

Looking forward to this tomorrow morning, will be tough going all the same.

Hard enough off the green tees :pac:

Anyone else off Boards playing in it?

Was looking into playing. Is this the open blue tees on the brs website? Id like to play it but don't want to take a beating all day. Weather is suppose to be nice.

Yeah that's the one, a member booked me in. I don't recall seeing earlier tee times being available online other than what's there now.

Hope the weather is nice for it, could be a long hard slog for me personally I reckon but can't wait for the experience of it.

Would be great to be out first, beat the two lads I am playing with and hold the record for 10 mins :pac:

I'd love to see the results of this, in good weather.

Best in when I left this afternoon was a 75 from someone off +2.

Really enjoyed the round, played better than I thought I would but still same silly mistakes, lack of confidence but that's golf.

13th was probably the hardest driving hole, actually hit a good one but 2nd went into water then bunker and so on

The par 3 3rd was a good smack in too.

Couple of 6's were I didn't get my drive away and that's when the course played really long.

All in all it was a great day and experience.

There is a scramble on there tomorrow off the Blacks, some interesting tee boxes there.

This was my attempt today, an 85 which would be probably in and around what I would usually get off the whites, yellows, greens or reds :pac:

Not surprised to see the 3rd hole played the hardest. 220 yards into a well guarded green. Say that broke some scorecards.

We played it off the blacks today in a scrumble. Loved every bit of it! Nearly eagled 15!!! Missed a 15 footer by a hair!

Daniel O'Byrne. Just looked at his round - 1 bird, 4 bogeys, rest pars.
