    Other half is keen cyclist but only has the cheap bike computers from Aldi and Lidl which are wrecking his head.

    What is the cheapest effective bike computer you can buy and where is best to buy it.

    Can't go wrong with any model from "cateye"
    I reserved mine online with halfords and got 25% discount, online promotion made it cheaper than getting it from chain reaction cycles and I had it straight away :) halfords promotion seems to be over now though :(

    Fairly accurate too as I've checked it against known distances

    I got the wireless velo 7 , has enough functions to suit normal cyclists, you could spend more and get the one the also has cadence , all depends on how much data you want
