Mark 4 golf Door issue

    I'm currently prepping my mark 4 golf for the nct and for sale.

    I've fixed a lot of niggly stuff, changed the mirrors and given it a good interior valet. One thing remains. I cant open the passenger door from the inside.

    I've removed the doorcard and the mechanism works when done manually (ie pull the silver wire linked to the interior door open handle. It works also when the doorcard is semi-attached. It just doesnt work when everything is clipped back into place.

    The area is so cramped, I'm covered in scrapes all up my arms and fingers, so I am giving up for now and asking for help :)

    What do you guys suggest? I know now it is not the mechanism at fault as it does work without the doorcard on.

    What's the chances the cable is stretched a little?
