Had my first van D.O.E.'d there on thursday, flew through lad :pac: On the back of the cert it says I have to hand this in for a Certificate of Roadworthiness along with a fee.

Is the cert I got not a COR?? This commerical business is expensive :o

yeah, we have this dumbass system here in ireland where you have to go down the local tax office to get it for a fee.......

.....just another money for jam scam.......

    How much is the fee?

From what i read on here, its €6. Just kinda irks me that I paid €87 for the test and some form of cert that's still not good enough for them.

Bit of a stupid system alrite! The cert you get is half A4 page size, not a disc like the NCT! I always wondered are you required to have the cert in the van, and if so why not have some sort of disc!

I didn't even know you had to do this, I have the cert in the glovebox but no disc, I wonder do they even prosecute people in this situation or is the six euros worth avoiding the headache of having to show the cert to the guards if the situation arises.

    yep it a messy system

AFAIK it's been chnged shorty and following on the nct lines,

I was stopped lately by a young lass I reckon fresh from Templemore,
and asked when was the vehicle doe'd ?

told her it was doed in october but I didn't get the CRW till february,

reckon she hadnt a clue waht I was on about but with a puzzled look on her face told me to carry on

Sorry for hijacking the thread. Has something changed with the DOE/CRW?

I just ask as this is the first time I've had the option of renewing my tax online, before I always had to go into the office with the CRW to show I had it.

I was always lead to believe that if your CRW has not expired by the time tax does then you can just re-tax the van for the year and not have to worry about DOE until the tax is up the next year, even if it expires shortly after you've taxed it. Is this actually the case?

Have the van taxed until next summer but the DOE just expired in the last week or so.
