    *Impounded!

Could anyone clarify something for me, please : If a garda stops a motorist and tells the motorist that their vehicle is to be impounded, and informs them of the fees for this and these fees include what is termed by the garda a towing fee but the garda drives the vehicle away and it is not towed away, is the towing fee still applicable and due?

I think the guard will only bring it to the station. Then it will be pick up by a tow company that's when you pay the fee.

Thanks. Although..in this instance the vehicle was driven from co. limerick to a station in tipperary or perhaps directly to the garage in tipperary.
