Some people more prone to insect bites

Not sure if this is the correct place for this post, but do people reckon that some people - like me :-( - are more prone to insect bites than others. I've heard it's true for mosquito bites but in the past two days I've managed to attract five hungry horse flies while those on the beach with me haven't had a bite.

I'm not certain are some people more prone to getting bitten but some certainly have a stronger reaction to bites. That might make it appear that someone is getting bitten more than others when in fact their bites are more apparent
