Philips TV loses picture sporadically

    Hi all,

    Our Philips 40PFL8605H (an LED, more info here) started acting up today.

    Every few minutes/seconds the screen loses picture for 2-5 seconds, no loss of sound or ambilight.

    I have narrowed it down to the screen - when it goes black I cannot see the TV menus for example. Also, I have done the flashlight test - shone a light at the screen when it is black - and I cannot see any faint shapes or the like.

    Any advice of how I might be able to fix this? Is this something a software update might fix?

    No longer getting any picture at all, just the backlight flickering on and off.

    Anybody got a suggestion? Presume some part of the hardware has failed?
