Low back bra for wedding dress

So I stupidly fell in love with a wedding dress that has a really low back. I am getting my fitting on Monday and she told me to bring my underwear with me.

The problem is that I cant find any underwear that works with it. I got one of those sticky silicone bras and it looked awful under a t-shirt. Also, the material of my dress wont allow me to have a bra sown in (I think anyway), its kind of loose and not boned.

Now I know I can ask the dressmaker on Monday but I was just wondering if anyone had the same problems and knew of any solutions? It would have to be strapless and backless. Im only a C cup so dont need massive support and I know I probably wont find anything as good as a regular bra but I just want something that would give me a bit of shape if possible.

    Thanks!

This would be a great support i reckon.. would it be low enough in the back??

The best I've found is a stick on bra but one that is cotton type material as I find the silicone ones give me a weird shape. I got a great on in LaSenza a few years ago and these two are the closest I can find.

Have you tried Figleaves? They have a really good bridal collection, which is reasonable, and they've got a sale on too!

I had the same problem as you. Low back dress and slightly bigger boobs than you. Didn't want to go braless on the day, and it took me AGES to find something suitable. The only place that did what I wanted was Figleaves. From memory, I think it was a Goddess bra. Fantastic fit and kept me very well supported!

    Hi,
Not sure if they have one in Cork but I got my bra in Brown Thomas after weeks of looking for a low back one- its a great fit but expensive 100, but worth it to feel comfortable on the day

    Hi aoifo

We have Brown Thomas but all they had were the stick on ones that I have. Would you have the make of the bra you got please?

Thanks for all the links above - most of the low back ones in the links are still not low enough. I feel like I'm going to regret this dress choice.

I would be giving up just yet. Did you look at Figleaves? They definitely have low backs bras as I got mine from there. Look at the Goddess website too.

Have a word with the dress shop. Their seamstress will probably be able to recommend a solution as well; for example sewing in bra cups. Is the dress boned?

I tried figleaves but could only find the usual sticky type.

I'm going to talk to her but I'm not too confident as the front of the dress is very loose fitting and quite light material. I wish I could get a bra sown in, that would be my ideal.

There is a lingerie shop on oliver plunkett street in Cork that you could try. Can't remember the name of it! Anyway, you could go with a low back corset with a bra attached. That might give you the support as it's boned and built up from the hips.

If all else fails OP, you can easily buy low back straps to pull the back down lower. Try the straps under the dress first though! :P
