Hello. I am wondering does anybody if it's possible to book one of the 9.99 tickets from Dublin to Wexford and collect the tickets at Dun Laoghaire?

Ticket collection for Dun Laoghaire doesn't seem to be available online, and I've called CIE and they say it's 25.99 to travel from Dun Laoghaire to Wexford... even though I could get the same train from a further distance (Connolly) and it would cost less (9.99)!

    Can anyone assist me? Thanks

Its really stupid, that all station prices for a route are not calculated online
    eg Dublin to Sligo €14.99
    Maynooth to sligo €14.99
    Mullingar to Sligo €14.99

Same price for less travelling when you compare Dublin and Mullingar to Sligo.
and then there is no price for kilcock and enfield!

    Stupid Irish Rail booking system

You can collect them anywhere once there is a TMV or a ticket office.

As far as I know u just put your booking number into the ticket machine - theres a ticket machine at Dun Laoghaire isn't there? And it prints your cheaper ticket - I've often got it that for mainline deals

Well my starting point would be Connolly. So, assumedly, the barrier wouldn't allow me through?

To repeat, "ticket collection for Dun Laoghaire doesn't seem to be available online."

When you purchase your ticket online you just select the station at which you will collect your ticket. Dun Laoghaire is manned if you need assistance.

Thank you! You should be working for Iarnróid Éireann. I was told by someone on the phone yesterday that the only way I could avail of the 9.99 fare was by departing Connolly and that if I wanted to do it from Dun Laoghaire I had to pay 25 euro. I think I might send them an email, because that is fairly atrocious customer service.

You were told what is, strictly speaking, correct information if you purchase from a booking office. In this case the promotional web fare can't be ordered from intermediate stations so what you do is collect it from an intermediate station (Such as Dun Laoghaire or indeed Bray.) and board there and that is absolutely fine; see below for clarification.

You would think though that someone working for Iarnrod Éireann would be able to tell me that on the phone. The original mistake was mine, in that I didn't see the option to pick up tickets from DL on the website. However, to be told by an employee that I can't buy DL collection tickets online and that I HAVE TO pay 25.99 if I want to travel to Wexford from DL is pretty awful customer service. She, although very friendly, clearly doesn't know the info. That's not good enough.

    Thanks for your help though.
