Sheep into/from North

    Hi does anyone know the rules for exporting sheep into the North and from the North, or have link that explains it?

    As far as I know sheep coming from the north have to be inspected by a vet in the north before they leave NI, and when you import them you inform your DVO and they may send someone out to look at them, at a lot of the pedigree sales the sheep are already inspected and ready for export, but if you buy on a farm you will have to wait a few days before you can import them

    Some sales are now export accredited meaning sheep are vetted on site and all paperwork for export is done when entering them.

    I bought Suffolk at Ballymena Premier sales and brought them home the same day, bought Texels at same Mart but different date and year and had to wait until next day. Society's must have different rules

    dont know anything about the south to north
