STRANGE NERVOUSNESS OF FLYING

    Hi,
I am a fairly frequent flyer have been for many years now. Have taken what must be up on 100 flights at this stage of varying lengths. While on holidays approx 3 years ago I had a dream of being on the plane and struggling to breath. It was a very clear dream and has left a lasting effect on me. Prior to this flying never bothered me. I flew home 3 days latter but from that point on I have been nervous of flying and keep worrying this may happen to me on board. I know in my head this is ridiculous but I cant seem to get that nagging feeling away. I have flown 6 or 7 times since and each time prior to the flight I will get nervous a few days before hand and when in the airport waiting I find it really kicks in. I am going on holidays in 3 weeks and am already thinking about it and am just wondering is there anything I could take to stop me or ease my worrying. I dont want any prescription things but was looking in to seredyn or st johns wort maybe taking one of them before hand anyone any exp with this are they any good? It is not a fear of flying or crashing or anything like that either it all just stems from this dream daft I know but very annoying in the back of my mind!!!!:mad::mad:

Sounds like an anxiety thing to be honest. Personally I hate flying. Swear to you everytime I get in a plan I think it is going to crash. But in y eyes it is weird not to be unsettled or nervous or anxious about some aspect of flying, whether it be the lack of breathing or crashing. It is an unusual thing for us as human beings to do.
My advice would be to ask for a drink- if it is brown pour it down.

Indeed, best thing for it. Obviously don't get sloshed, but just enough to be "a little buzzed" and you'll be at your destination before you know it.

Also aisle seats are best so you can get up to walk around/stretch (it all helps).
