    Hi there,

Looking into getting into relief milking but have no idea how to go about it?

Do you need to be trained? Do courses?

I'm 22 and have grown up on a dairy farm hence the interest!

I would contact your local office and see what the story is there. Back in the old days when every young lad was mixing cement there would be the odd add in the local rag looking for people . ASFAIK the last letter said that despite downturn high quality operatives were hard enough to come across as most were milking in sunnier climes ( down under).

The fact you come from a dairy back round is no harm but be able to back it up (know your way around a parlour).

Have had people here with green certs as long as your arm and lads who had picked it all up at home only . They have both sorts on their books .

    Anyway no harm in asking.

    No harm in asking.

Yes,the frs do courses, even if you were milking since you were a boy you do them.
There is always a high demand for milkers so go for it!
Just contact your local office,or better still call into them.
