Motorcheck query

I did the motorcheck for a car that I really like, a BMW and I got this on the mileage check:

    Previous Readings Mileage

    11/03/2013 52,196 Kms (32,433 Mls)
    08/03/2013 80,467 Kms (50,000 Mls)
    27/02/2013 84,712 Kms (52,638 Mls)
    19/10/2011 77,332 Kms (48,052 Mls)
    07/10/2011 77,331 Kms (48,051 Mls)
    01/06/2009 37,751 Kms (23,457 Mls)
    09/04/2009 35,701 Kms (22,184 Mls)

The car has currently ~59000 miles and no tamper dot was visible on the odometer (but I'm sure there are ways around that).

Is that a real obvious clocking and what can I do to confirm it 100%?
Basically how can I verify the first three entries if there is no service history in the booklets?

Quite simply someone is mixing up kms with miles and whoever wrote in 50000 was rounding up/down

A bmw dealer could tell a lot from the key

How is it possible to find out who/where those top 3 entries were recorded?

59000 sounds pretty spot on in this case.

Yep, BMW cars store their mileage in 3 places - the odometer, the ECU and the key. It may be easy to alter two of those three but the key is normally a bit more complex and overlooked. A BMW dealer will scan the key every time the car is in for a service and record the mileage at that time.

Does it have a service history and have you verified with the garages that stamped it what was done?

The service history adds up to date but the first stamp is at ~40k km so I am a bit skeptical of that.
I will try and look into the dealer history tomorrow.

If you email motorcheck they'll check it out and correct their records

It current clock reading sounds correct given it's usage history.

To be honest I cant imagine someone bothering with knocking 20k off of such a low mileage car.

Yeah I've dropped a mail and asked them to look into the top 2 records.

    11/03/2013 52,196 Kms (32,433 Mls)
    08/03/2013 80,467 Kms (50,000 Mls)

Why would it be serviced twice in 3 Days

It was also drove just under 20k miles in 3 days also. :)

Looks to me like someone messed up km with miles when logging the service information and then corrected it. Did you ring the garages that serviced it and query them?
