taking medications through Dubai airport

    Hi, I am traveling to South Africa soon and have a 10 hour stop over at Dubai airport. I have a heart condition and am on several prescribed medications. I am just wondering if anyone has passed through Dubai carrying prescribed meds and what documentation was needed to carry them. Hope some one can advise.

    I asked a similar question of my GP a few weeks back and basically once your meds don't include codeine you will be ok. Apparently codeine is the only really worry for normal meds as its so freely available over here.

    He did advise me to carry a letter from him outlining the meds that you take and for what ailment.

    thanks Darragh, I would be interested to here how you get or indeed how anyone else found the experienc as i believe they are very strict
