    Hi lads,

I have dug up my front garden and want to put concrete down on it. Its 12 foot by 12 foot.

I have all the top soil out so now im I want to know how much should I take out or how far I should go down?

Im thinking of getting 1 tonne of stone and 1.5 metres of concrete. Does that sound right??

    Thanks for the help.

you have to stop digging once you hit hardish ground.normally once topsoil is removed ground is good enough for concrete.also if there is any fine sand, you have to dig it out
if you dug fairly deep, use stones to build up ground height 100mm below top of lawn
    standard concrete tickness is 100-125 mm(4-5 inches).bare minimum 80mm
i would say go for 100mm
    so, 370(12ft) x 370 x 0.1= 1.37m2
1.5 meter of concrete should be enough but normally minimum delivery is 2 meters.either pour it ticker or pour what you need and ask lorry driver to take rest of it away.
i am concrete finisher for last 8 years.if any questions-just ask
