Does anyone here know where I can find any?

Preferably in the Dublin area but if you know of any anywhere else in the country that would be cool.

    Go raibh míle maith agat.

    Hi SoulandForm,
If you search on the below link it will let you enter your preferred location, denomination and language. There is a list on the right also of all the times :)

    Thank you.

It is incredibly depressing to see the lack of services in Irish.

The only Protestant one I can find is at Christ Church but I have heard that the supporter of what amounts to child abuse in the eyes of most people David Norris goes there and even takes Communion so I dont think I could stomach going there.

Why would the Church of Ireland bother having Irish language services anyway? It's an Anglican church. Why make the services exclusive to a tiny minority of the population when almost none of your own congregation would understand a word that was being said? Seems pointless to me.

There are sinners in every church service

Maybe you should go and ask god to bless you with more forgiveness and acceptance of others

The Church of Ireland has a wonderful tradition of Irish language scholarship and liturgy. Two recent Archbishops - Donald Caird and George Otto Simms - were noted users of Irish. In some parts of the country - especially in Donegal - there are a number of parishioners whose first language would be Irish or who would have good or excellent levels of Irish. It would be natural there to have services that are wholly or partly in Irish. The bigger problem seems to be that there are very few clergy with sufficient Irish to conduct these services, or with the confidence to do so. The Irish used in the prayer book is a very good translation but tends to be a little "archaic" and doesn't always flow off the tongue.
There is a new prayer book with both English and Irish side by side which is much better and allows services to slip easily from one language to another.

Can you not see the difference between a sinner- and someone who like David Norris who attempts to supply justification for the most vile types of sin?

If he was advocating murdering jews in gas chambers rather than sexually abusing children and everyone thought it was just fine would you still have no problem with the situation?

At the end of the day. Only god will judge me.

If you turned sinners away from the church you would have an empty church.

    Are you sin free yourself?

You are ignoring the situation- we are not talking about someone sinning, but someone defending sins that leave lives ruined and shattered. Not all sins are equal. Rape and murder are not on a par with being grumpy in the morning.

So Churches should not be safe places for children but they should be for sexual perverts?

By allowing a defender of child sexual abuse to strut around this Church and even receive Communion that is exactly what the pastors are saying.

If the Church of Ireland wants to follow the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland's hierarchy in believing that child sexual abuse is no big deal than they will suffer the same fate in terms of dropping attendances and public revulsion.

Thank God I wasnt abused as a child so there is nothing for me to forgive.

However have a friend who was abused as a child- why should he after all the emotional and psychological damage inflicted on him be accepting of those who advocate for child sexual abuse?

Should we be equally accepting of murder or smashing glasses over peoples' faces?

one in four children are abused in this country according to statistics.

That statistic is quite high. So there Is obviously a lot of paedophiles walking around.

I am sure there are plenty of paedophiles in every church service, no matter the creed.

Should you stop this from letting you go to mass?

Im not a Roman Catholic so I only occasionally go to Mass.

Obviously though there is a massive difference between a child abuser and someone who advocates for child sexual abuse-Im sure even you must be able to see the difference once you think about it?

I highly doubt that one in four children have been abused.

Indeed, and I think the original question has now been answered. Closed.
