Has anyone here used it, was on Difene but they did not agree with me, been put on this for chronic back and knee pain, are they as harsh on your stomach as Difene and how are they when mixed with alcohol.

Will talk to my wife later to get a better response than what I can provide. She is on them long term for Ankylosing Spondylitis, I will post up later for you what she says.

Ask your pharmacist. That's what they're there for.

You should never mix alcohol with any drug - that isn't medical advice, it's common sense. Don't forget, things like alcohol and aspirin-based medicines are absorbed through the lining of your stomach so they remain sources of irritation. Combining Arcoxia with alcohol is bound to cause irritation.

As for stomach irritation, Arcoxia is designed to be less irritating to the stomach because it has more selective action than other anti-inflammatory medications.

Hope this answers your questions somewhat.

When I was on Arcoxia, the pharmacist gave me some OTC stomach tablets (cant remember what they were) to take with them and it really helped :) Unfortunately, the Arcoxia themselves didn't ease my pain much and they messed with my menstrual cycle so I stopped taking them. A relative of mine was taking them for arthritis and he swore by them for the pain but he ended up with an ulcer from them.

My mom was prescribed these for her shoulder along with tradol. She didn't like them at all, gave her very bad panic attacks. She's suffered from them in the past though so this probably agravated them but they really were quite bad :(

Wow....... glad to hear that. Same for me, stopped using them. Thought I was losing it..................:) Use Arthrotec instead....Not much different but there was something in the Arcoxia that didn't agree with me at all.

Ended up going off it after a week and have been taking Lyrica and Tramadol since, it did not agree with me.
