Hi all i went out for a swim on Monday Night open water.

something pass along my fingers i could feel it, kinda freaked me out, so i motored on big time and in doing so i got bad cramps in both my legs had to pull myself in lucky i was 200 meters on the way in,

With a Race on Saturday and still pain & tightness in my left leg am wondering do Compression socks really work for tightness in the legs.

Sounds like you need a sports massage, but I wouldn't leave it any later than tomorrow evening.

My advice would be just rest up before the race, then make sure you get a decent warm up before the gun goes. You might be surprised at how you will recover over a couple of days.

Maybe wear compression socks or calf guards while you're resting, or wear them in bed if you can bear it in this heat. In general I'm not convinced of the benefits of compression, although I am open to the fact that it may help some people in certain circumstances. (is that on the fence enough!;))

Hopefully should leave you feeling fresh on Saturday.

thank for the tips, I have Ice on it keeping my legs up to get blood flow better around the legs. i had the socks on last night.

they seem to be abit better i can flex the Muscle just a little sore to touch on the sides.
