    Hey there.

So my mom used to work but shes now sick and she's on the illness benefit which is 188 euro per week. I have 21 years and Im unemployed (I used to work but they cancel my contract because they do not need my services anymore) All money we have is 740 euro for month the rent cost us 650 euro monthly so there's no chance to even living. We applied for rent supplement but they refuse us and they said:
The rent u are paying 650 for your accomondation exceeds the maximum rent limit of 300 euro per month (Single Accomondation)

    FYI
Your disability benefit (? My mom gets Illness..) is below the SWA please present to ur local Community Welfare Office and apply sub to scale which bring u to 186 euro per week.

Now can somebody explain me ? What should we do? We didn't paid the rent ... So its getting really bad...

Ring your landlord and ask if the rent could be dropped to 600.
    It's worth a try.

if your living with your mother and not working you can get a rent supplement of higher value covering two people. otherwise you need to find a cheaper house.

650e is crazy rent in an area where a 300e rate of rent supplement is in effect.

When did you apply for rent.
It has just gone up and should cover the 650.

So you are 21? Did YOU apply for Jobseekers Allowance? If you worked in this Country you should qualify for some payment.

I know it's crazy but landlord said that if I not gonna pay the rent (which is now 1300 euro because he counts as this month and also for second one.., I will be removed from home..)

We applied for a rent around 10 days ago,but I applied no once but few times and ALWAYS I get refused.

Yes I do, I applied for reclaim for JA, and I should get it but still it won't be 147 euro per week but ONLY 90 euro. Because Social made a mistake and they gave me incorrect rate (which I didn't know) and after few months they sent a letter that I have to pay around 1300 euro debt , otherwise they will take 10 euro from my JA every week to cover a debt....

Have you checked current rent limits (new from 17 Jone 2013) ?:

    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/supplementary_welfare_schemes/rent_supplement.html

As I see that usually if single person is €300, the couple is €350. So find yourself a partner (but not on RAS already!!) and register him/her in the house with you. That will give overall €300 for your Mother and €350 for you and your partner = €650.

if shes seriously ill or has a long term illness you can apply for carers allowance and that will cover everything full dole, rent, fuel everything.

    You need to:
Go to your loacl Council with your mother and ask to go on the housing list.
look at that link Igor posted and ask your Landlord to reduce the rent to the single rent limit x 2
Apply for Rent Allowance in your own right.

He won't agree to reduce the rent from 650 to 300 euro, no chance. I'm going to tomorrow with my mom. They refused me as well saying that The rent is 650 and maximum Is 350. However they sent the same letter to my mom but they attached one more note something like list what she should bring (photo ID, proof ownership landlord and bank details) do you think that the social thinks that they can give her rent supplement (because they attached this list or they just need more informations.?)

The maximum rent is €350 per person. So you both need to apply separately. Making it €700.

Judging by you use of English, I'm guessing you are not Irish. That being the case, there's a chance you may not qualify for any assistance if you do not satisfy the the Residency conditions.

So only reason because Im not Irish.? Well to be fair my mom worked here around 7 years, I ended collage with leaving cert so it's shouldn't be even a thought that if I'm not Irish I have to be homeless.?

    Kristopher it's a completly bull****,
