Are all of the full service Freeview channels available on FTA? Am I missing something? Freeview boxes seem to be more expensive, even though FTA boxes offer more channels because of different satellites? Does a Freeview box decode some stations that I would be missing if I went with a normal FTA box?

Are you referring to Freesat (via a sat dish)?

Freeview is the UK DTT service via an aerial, equivalent to our Saorview. People regularly get the names mixed up.

Freesat is a package of FTA sat channels that pay a fee to have their FTA channels included in the 7 day Freesat epg and have a fixed position within the programme guide. Auto updates channel frequency, text, red button etc. Twin tuner PVR versions are available.

Basically it give you a FTA Sky-like service without a sub or premium channels.

With a FTA sat receiver the channels are stored as they're found and placed in no particular order, there's no 7 day programme guide only now&next programme info. If channels change frequency you'll have to retune to restore them. No 7 day guide, text, red button.

All the channels included in Freesat are available with any FTA sat receiver.
