When do you plan on coming?

If you can hold out until August the Taste of Donegal food festival is on in Donegal Town.

Also, this documentary - Made In Donegal includes some local eateries and producers. A list is shown during the end credits.

La fantasia in Letterkenny is amazing

The Tearooms in Glenveagh National Park have great food. They do amazing desserts, but you can walk to the viewpoint afterwards to work off the guilt/extra calories.

Pats on the Square in Letterkenny for Italian, though it can be quite noisy if its busy. Would be my pick over La Fantasia but others disagree.

Haven't been in it yet, but the Moonshine Cafe in Letterkenny looks like its producing nice menus. It's in one of the lots across from the LYIT.

The Lemon Tree is excellent, as is Pats on the square, La Fantasia is not far off them either.

thanks for all the replies! any other shops in the area like the green man in dunfanaghy? looking for artisan local (!) products... or even better, perhaps there are producers that sell directly?

Dunfanaghy hold a small market selling locally sourced and made food every Saturday at 11am. I think you need to get there early though because it is very popular.

Artisan bread in the Wine Buff, Letterkenny every Friday delivered at 11am (freshly baked by new Artisan bakers near Newtowncunningham)

Lough Eske hotel do really good food.

If you're heading west try Danny Minnies in Annagry. Also top quality food.

Best barfood I've had would be Bayview in Dungloe.
