Apply twice for same job?

Just looking for people's opinion on this one, particularly any recruiters/HR people.

I was searching online for jobs and came across a position I would really like to interview for - its a UK Company taking on a client here in Ireland and are recruiting for someone to look after this client (who I actually worked for previously so I know their business requirements). It was advertised on a UK jobsite and I emailed my application to them. A few days later they advertised it on an Irish jobsite. I'm thinking now (probably incorrectly) that maybe I should email the application again through the Irish site - maybe it would stand out more than a larger volume UK site? It's a direct email address for an employee of the company, not an agency, so I'm wondering would it be frowned upon to send it through again, perhaps even stating in the cover note that I previously submitted it through the UK jobsite. Any thoughts on this welcomed!

It won't be frowned upon, but it might cause some confusion.

Personally I'd apply on the Irish website also. I'd mention in my cover letter I also applied via the UK site a few days ago.

    Best of luck.
