How does it work? Do you have to wait until it activates? Is there much difference between the Fitbit One and Ultra (same device, different design?)

A BlocBuy is a group purchase of product(s) or service(s) that uses collective buying power to obtain discounts from brands.

    This is how it works:
Simply sign into BlocBuy.com and join the "Bloc" that you want.
Like, Share, Tweet & email others to join in your bloc.
There are absolutely no deposits or credit card details required.
When the BlocBuy achieves the minimum number of members the special offer price will become available.
Other members can opt into the Bloc until the closing date.
You will then be notified by email that the Bloc Price is on and it’s time to buy!
Then all you have to do is return to the page, "add to cart" & checkout.
    That’s it – Result!

it's a hip and groovy pedometer that can tell the difference between walking/running and climbing stairs, so you can track how much exercise you're getting.

it's pretty good, except it can't distinguish between real exercise and sitting in a car/train/plane so not exactly perfect.

i was finding the battery lasting about a week initially, but then it got put through the wash and although it survived after a few days in the hot press in a box of rice, it's never been quite the same since, the battery craps out after around 3-4 days now and turns itself off randomly.

the app is pretty good for syncing and the sleep monitoring thing is useful (if you like that sort of thing) but the reality is, unless you plan on sticking to your exercise regime you'll probably get bored of it within a month or so and it'll end its life sitting on a shelf.

I missed out on the One the first time but bought the ultra, dont think there is much of a diff anyway? I see they have the one up again though. Tempted again. The flex looks the business alright but havent seen that reduced at all :(

here is a good comparison chart...http://www.fitbit.com/comparison/trackers I decided to bite the bullet and buy the one as the flex doesn't have a digital screen, just leds that show progress.

now if I could just figure out how to buy 2 of them without having to set up a second profile - think I might be a bit more driven if I was competing with the OH ;)

Just bought the last two for that reason... :D

But now the buy just says the price is now live... how exactly do I buy it?

That's the Zip you've linked to which is a cheaper model - the Fitbit One is on Amazon for £78.50, quite a lot in it...

Hoping to cash in on this one later.

Update: Nope. I have found bad reviews about the security of the device on the wrist, which is a deal breaker for me.
I will hold out for the Flex model.

What do you mean the wrist? this one clips on no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,432 ✭✭✭StaticNoise

It's a model that does both, and frankly I'm sure that it would get lost on clothes, etc.

Especially clipped to a pocket in a modern world with phones in pockets, wallets, and the like.
