Long story short, eating, bit into something, broke a corner(1/4 of tooth :() off my back molar to just above the gum line, theres no pain or sensitivity..can this be filled or does it require a crown?

**I'm going to a dentist, I've just heard crowns can cause infections/nerve lose in the long run and don't want to get one if a filling is an option that a dentist may not recommend(€100 -150 for filling, €500 - 800 for crown)

crowns do not cause infections/nerve lose in the long run, it the decay that does that. You most likely can get a filling. Only a dentist who has examined your tooth can tell, but usually teeth are not crowned until they can no longer support fillings.
