I've been thinking of getting Ripplecom broadband 8mb, and I'm in Narraghmore Co. Kildare.

My house is showing as covered on the Ripplecom coverage map, but I was wondering if this was accurate. Does anyone in Narraghmore have Ripplecom, and if so, is it any good??

The Ripplecom map is generally very conservative and it's also missing a few areas where there are transmitters but there's no coverage in the map (eg Kiskeam Co. Cork), if you get red on the map you have a very high chance of reception subject to local obstructions (eg trees etc). Best way to find out is get them to call out and check for service (they will usually try different parts of the roof and use long poles etc)

With regards to how the service is in your part of the area, you'll have to wait for someone else to answer that cos I'm down the other side of the country.

Is all of Narraghmore going to be covered by Wicklow broadband in the future does anyone know as my neighbour tried to receive it but was not in the line of sight from wicklow, anyone have any idea if there will ever be a reciever set up in narraghmore to serve people specifically who are not in line with the wicklow mountains? I was told that this was being taken into consideration does anyone know of any updates on this ?, thanks

I was talking to the guy in Wicklow broadband and he said they'd be willing to put a mast in the centre of the village ... preferably the pub. However, they won't touch it if there's another bb provider already there ... which there is. He also said he'd put the mast on another suitable building if possible, so there is still a possibility of decent broadband on the village.

Anyone who wants more on this please pm me.
