    Looks good :)
Use http://geizhals.de/ price comparison to knock a bit of the cost of some of the items.

The case is very bland IMO.

I would bump the PSU to 750W to allow for expansion and also I would switch to Intel CPU (more expensive I know but worth it in the long run)

Intel CPU means i'd pretty much have to go to €850 all in which i'm kinda weary about at the moment. The only reason I've had to suddenly get a pc in the first place is because my laptop decided to call it a day after 4 years.

The case is a little bland but i've used a coolermaster case in my first build and the screwless design is really nice to work with. It also has a spot for my ssd without needing a converter cage to 3.5".

    Item|Price
    Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB, SATA 6Gb/s|€56.69
AMD FX-6300 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+|€102.34
    Gigabyte GA-970-UD3, AMD 970, AM3+, ATX|€78.65
    LG GH24NS bare schwarz|€20.41
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W|€46.52
    ASUS PCE-N15|€14.90
    LG 22EA53VQ-P|€125.83
    Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC Windforce 2X, 2GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort|€174.14
    8GB-Kit Kingston HyperX blu.XMP PC3-12800U CL9-9-9-27|€62.88
    Cooler Master Force 500 Midi-Tower - schwarz, ohne Netzteil|€36.52
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€737.87

Found a 21.5" version of the ips monitor which gave me some breathing room to upgrade to a 660 oc card which got good reviews.
I have a friend who might have a spare fan for overclocking that CPU. But overclocking is a future goal when i have a bit of income.
Considering the board doesn't even support SLI or CrossFire, i think i'm safe with a 450W PSU, but a little clarity on this would be nice.

I'm pretty happy with the build but is there anything I need to be concerned about such as a new chipset from amd or intel that will compete with the fx 6300 performance wise? I've been lurking for a good year here and this processor is still the go to for budget performance, just making sure that is accurate.

Odd advice, I was actually going to suggest the opposite. Unless he suddenly decided to go from a 650Ti to tri high end cards there is zero reason for a 750w PSU.

Nothing wrong with the 6300 either. Pretty solid build - someone else might have opinions on the monitor, not an area I'm great with to be honest.

Case wise, maybe have a quick look at the bitfenix range, even in that price bracket they have some very nice cases.

Indeed, was looking at the Merc but the lack of a usb3.0 port on the front is a bit of a turn off if i end up with a flash drive to move files quickly. Cheers for the advice, i'll post again in a 2-3 weeks when i'm positive the desktop is the way to go just to make sure something amazing or some amazing website hasn't popped up in the mean time :)

I haven't seen any negative reviews for the monitor but for that price with an ips panel I would like to get a second opinion from someone.

Argos have a 22 inch ips for 120.

If not planning on SLI you can get a cheaper motherboard and your power supply wont allow for SLI anyway. You should be able to get this into the build, a much much better graphics card https://www.hardwareversand.de/2048+MB/83407/Palit+GeForce+GTX+760+2GB+mit+GeForce+Experience.article

Just a small question for now (still waiting to get online banking stuff sorted, so ordering in a week).
If I order a monitor and PSU from germany, won't it come with the EU plugs? Will I just have to go pick up some 3 pin (not sure what the technical name is) hoover cables before it arrives?

Also, I've decided to bump the build up to 850 just to get the most out of it. Hardwareversand swallowed my build but I think i'll go with the 3570K and Z77 mobo. Also the 660 TI since the price just went through the floor.

Good choice. Although since you are considering 660 ti, you might want to look at GTX 760 instead. It is comparable to GTX 670 in terms of performance and price is pretty close to 660ti.
This should give you best performance in terms of FPS rather than CPU upgrade alone. It really comes down to your choice of games.
i5-3750k is no doubt better than FX-6300 and should increase your framerate in CPU bound games (MMOs like Planetside 2 or WoW, or crappy optimized games like Arma 2) by quite a lot 10-20 fps, however GPU upgrade should yield over 15-30fps in more GPU bound games (like BF3, Bioshock infinite, Tomb raider, etc).
Numbers are theoretical and average observed between an Intel and AMD users with GTX 670 and GTX 650 ti boost... also some online benchmarks

I was going to go with the 760, but when I saw I could get a 660 Ti which is only slightly below the 760 and 30-40euro cheaper, bang for the buck says just go with the 660 Ti.
I want to play a bit of Starcraft 2 so yeah, the CPU is important in that game.

If sc2 is all you'll be playing, 660ti is overkill. But if you will play other games it's good to have it.

Aye, I want this card to be relevant in a load of games and for a good few years anyway. I suck at SC2 so much... I'll probably mainly be playing LoL, streaming LoL to run tournys for friends, Battlefield 4 when that comes out and some of the latest games if they take my fancy.

Then you are on the right track with your i5 build and 660 ti. Even 660 would be enough, except for BF4 probably.
As far as I researched, MSI, ASUS and Palit Jetstream cards comes factory OC and if overclocked a little more, they can perform about 8-12% better than reference GTX 670, except for the part where memory plays bigger role, which is rare (skyrim HD textures comes in mind)

Best of luck with your build, you are gonna love it. CPU is also very good for Xsplit streaming.

    This case: http://www.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?adp=0&aid=48895&agid=631&apop=3

Is the info just out of date and this is a usb3 case?

Also, just wondering if I ordered from hardwareversand and i get the email with all the details, can i just go into bank of ireland tomorrow and do it in person rather than go through online? Online needs another week to sort out a new pin for the mobile authentication of a payee and i'd rather get this whole delivery thing started sooner rather than later.

Oh and grabbed this monitor from Currys today since it was €150 and pretty much spot on what I was looking for.

@Xenoronin: There are 2 versions of Bitfenix Shinobi. The newer one has 2x USB2.0 + 2x USB3.0 ports. Probably cost a little more, too.

Alternative similar cases you might want to consider for USB 3.0 support:
    Sharkoon T9
Sharkoon T28 <- this is an update over T9
Antec Eleven Hundred (or Antec 1100) <- This mid/full tower, extra wide for giant Air cooling like Silver Arrow SB-E SE or Noctua NH-D14

edit: also I find Amazon cheaper, plus free delivery to Ireland. Just don't use currency converter they provide.

Ran into problems with the online banking. Waiting for the mobile authentication pin to add a payee. Some of the parts have gone out of stock in the store in the mean time. I have placed the order, will they have been removed from the store system until I get the money to them? Expecting to get the letter on monday from Bank of Ireland, so will be paying then. Everything was in stock when i placed the order.

I found this out the hard way. They only remove the items when they get
the money, not when you place the order. This is one of the reasons why
I probably wont shop with them again.

Argh, oh well, just gotta change a few things and make a new account on Monday I suppose :/ Feel bad doing that but meh.

They are waiting for bank transfers which can take a while as seen here and have stock coming in regularly. I'm not sure how you see this as much of a fault on their part.
