tip trimming driver shaft

I have titeist 910 shaft ahina stiff flex that i dont use, im thinking of tip trimming the shaft to make it play 44.5 inchs, i also have a spare head weight that i ll add little solder to make up the weight i loose when i trim the shaft. Havn't done it myself.. I think trimming a shaft by 1/2 an inch makes it play slightly stiffer..maybe 1/2 way between S and X flex but dont hold me to that.
